Constructing "Entrepreneurial University" Under "Innovation-driven Strategy": A Case Study On National University Of Singapore

In the time of knowledge economy, our country has brought forward the development strategy of innovation driven, as China's economic development stage, compared with factor-driven and investment-driven strategy stage, innovation driven strategy is a new stage of development, the stage of development does not mean that elements and investment are no longer needed for economic development, it means that in such a new stage, all social elements and investment is driven by innovation. So, in this situation, social development puts forward new requirements to higher education –construct entrepreneurial university, train innovative talents for the support of knowledge economy, promote national innovation development.Since the entrepreneurial university had been a new model of university development, It attracted extensive attention in both social and educational academic study at home and abroad. At the end of the 20 th century,China introduced the related theory of entrepreneurial university, from then on, entrepreneurial university has become a hot issue of higher education research.At present, many of famous universities in the world has gain remarkable achievements in their way of transforming to entrepreneurial university, Through the transformation, those university not only made leaps to their education career, but also largely promoted the economic development of countries and regions, what's more, This reform improved the talents' adaptability and innovative mind deeply.Therefore, It is of vital significance to reveal the value concept, organization characteristics and the developing mechanism of the entrepreneurial university.First of all, based on the literature review of knowledge economy, innovation driven development and entrepreneurial university, this paper analyzes the theoretical definition and internal logic relations of them: Knowledge economy relys on knowledge innovation, science and technology to render into productivity factor, thus to change the production relation; Innovation driven development relys on scientific and technological innovation to build core competitiveness, and promote the development of social economy, it is the inevitable choice of human economic and social response to knowledge economy, talent is the core to innovation driven development.The entrepreneurial university we study refers to a new type of university, it response to new social demands and the environment very quickly, it well transforms knowledge resources and knowledge capital and develop them into its inner kinetic energy. So we say, entrepreneurial university is the result of higher education institutions dealing with the internal social change under the background of knowledge economy era, it is an important support of social innovation driven development. Compared with traditional universities, the characteristics of entrepreneurial university are very clear: It aims at knowledge applications and social services and academic capitalism, it emphasized on organizational flexibility and problem solving.
