The new curriculum standards require students to obtain basic knowledge of biological facts, concepts, principles and laws. Biology basic concepts and the basics are numerous and complex. Students have difficulty with the overall grasp of knowledge and memory and are easily confused about what they have learned; the main method of learning is by rote and biological sea tactical. This has increased the difficulty of student learning biology and reduced students' interest in learning biology. The new curriculum standards require to develop students' active learning ability and learn problem-solving method in practice. This prompts us to carry out reform in teaching, and exploring a new way of teaching is a problem for teachers to be solved.Concept Map is to present links between concepts in the form of graphs, and it is a way to depict the characteristics and the link between the different components of the complex as a whole and to each other simply and directly. By using concept map in teaching relevant knowledge can be presented clearly and a knowledge network can be formed to help students grasp the overall relationship and distinguish different concepts.Based on the relevant concept map knowledge, in order to further explore the application effect of concept map strategies aiming at our students, the author conducted experiments to explore.The experiment is for the two levels of school students. Take Hong'ao group(class 1 and class 5) and Pingxing group(class 2and class 6) for example(Class 1 and 2 as the experimental class, class 5 and class 6 as the control class for one semester experiment). Teachers introduce Concept Map in the experimental class, find out relevant concepts and the relationship between concepts in this lesson and guide students to form graph in group work. In the control class the conventional manner of teaching is adopted. By Collecting student learning and concept map applications effect through questionnaires, and comparing the experimental classes and control classes meanwhile, explore whether the concept map applied to the teaching can significantly improve student achievement. Research indicates: In teaching, the use of concept map strategies improves students' interest in learning biology, in Hong'ao group particularly; concept map used in reviewing can help students to think deeply and make knowledge more systematic and clear. In the experimental class the effect is more pronounced; Concept map strategies can significantly improve the academic performance of students in Hong'ao group, the longer and more obviously. In the process of using the concept map strategies for teaching students in Pingxing group, concept map can not significantly improve their academic performance.
