With the development and progress of society, Sports has become an important indicator to measure a country's comprehensive strength, and has already risen to the level of a national strategic development. For a long time, the Party and government have committed to the development of our country's sports. A series of major sports events, including the 2008 Olympic Games and the successful bid to host the winter games in 2015, not only promote the development of national fitness cause in our country, but also illustrate the determination of developing sports undertakings and improving the national quality. It is the promulgation and implementation of New Curriculum Standard that push sports industry to a new high. School physical education is an important part of China's sports enterprise, and physical education teaching is the focus of the work of school sports. Correctly grasping school physical education teaching is the key link for our country to cultivate new century talents.With the diversification of teaching guiding ideology of physical education and the attempt of physical education teaching reform, some unique teaching modes have emerged since 1980 s. The emergence of physical education teaching modes makes school sports teaching in our country step onto a new step. After several decades of hard course, our country has made a great breakthrough in the research on teaching mode of physical education. Sports teaching mode is that“ ideas in pattern, pattern through practice”, namely, taking guiding ideology and theory in the sports teaching as the main line, and taking content, objectives, methods and means as practice node. Students are allowed to more fully experience sports learning process in practice implementation, so as to achieve the desired teaching effect. Of course, these physical education teaching modes form the theory that can be used for selection after a long period of practice testing.With the continuous development and reform of physical education teaching, the problems in the teaching of physical education in senior middle schools in our country are gradually revealed. We should carry out analytic research on physical education teaching in high school of our country at the present stage, find out the advantages and disadvantages of the school in sports work, and think about key reasons of these problems in the dialectical way of thinking. Analyzing advantages and making up disadvantages are the key points, which can improve the quality of school physical education and promote the development of school sports.Based on the investigation of the present situation of physical education teaching mode of 12 senior middle schools in Kaifeng city, the paper uses literature material methods, interview methods, questionnaire survey methods, data statistics methods and logical analysis methods to carry on the analysis research. Using SPSS17.0 to analyze statistically for valid questionnaires, we will analyze the current situation of physical education teaching mode in senior middle schools in Kaifeng city, the cognitive situation of physical education teachers and students on the pattern and the factors that affect the pattern selection, and put forward the selection strategies of physical education teaching mode. The results show that the current physical education model of senior high school in this city is not optimistic—ideas of physical fitness and skills for a higher proportion, followed by the development in an all-round way and lifelong physical education thought; PE teachers know few about the ten physical education models listed in the paper and hardly use new physical education models. By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the current physical education model of senior high school in Kaifeng city, the paper provides selection strategies for physical education teaching models: First, set up the correct teaching guiding ideology under the New Curriculum Standard; Second, according to the nature of the teaching material to choose different physical teaching models; Third, use of external teaching condition to choose physical teaching models; Fourth, according to the teaching object and teachers' ability to choose physical teaching models. Some theoretical and practical basis for the development of physical education in senior middle school in Kaifeng city, and some references for the reform of school physical education.
