From the perspective of the volume of the big data in education, with the development of the big data, the static data in traditional education is activated and the hidden data is visualized, with the addition of vast amounts of data generated in online education, it is considered that education is entering into the big data era. From the perspective of the technology and ability of the big data in education, collecting and mining big data in education as well as the application of study and analysis technology embody not only the analysis ability and the ability to predict, but also a kind of innovation ability. From the perspective of the thinking and ideas of the educational big data, some views are certain innovative, such as the mode of'sample equal total', a kind of overall data acquisition mode, that big data in education is an important asset, students is the source of multidimensional data and to study students through the big data. On the basis of comprehensively and scientifically collecting, processing and analyzing the information and data of students, student evaluation refers to value judgment and fact judgment of the change and development of students, with the purpose to promote the all-round development of students. Research the student assessment reform in the big data era, elaboration of the relationship between the characteristics of the big data in education and student assessment principles, revealing the challenges to the student assessment reform, predicting the trend of student assessment reform and putting forward the strategies responding to student assessment reform, are aimed at promoting education and teaching reform and finally achieve all-round development of students by promoting student assessment reform.Firstly, through analysis on the aspects like concept, characteristics and value of big data, it can be seen that big data have the characteristic of objectivity, dynamic, difference, complex totality, tracking, early warning and intuitive, etc. Student evaluation should be scientific, developmental, personalized, multiple, all-round, expansible, timely, simple and feasible etc. It can be seen that characteristic of big data matches with principles of student evaluation and big data in education can provide opportunities for student evaluation innovation. Secondly, although big data in education has great value and its application is the tendency, in terms of accelerating development of the big data in education, applying the big data in education to promote student evaluation reform and serve for students development, there are challenges of backward thoughts and technology, lack of talent, defects of big data, security threats and lack of security policies, etc. Again, under the influence of big data thinking, techniques and methods, the development tendency will be highlighted in evaluation function, evaluation criteria will reflect the difference, evaluation content will be more comprehensive, evaluation methods and evaluation subject will be more diversified, and evaluation process will be more focused on formation. In short, student evaluation in the big data era will occur profound and comprehensive reform. Finally, in order to respond to the challenge in student assessment reform, adapt to the reform tendency of student evaluation and promote the student assessment reform smoothly in the big data era. we need to establish a rational concept of the big data, return to the concept of developmental student evaluation, develop the education big data technology, improve the system of educational big data, cultivate professional talents in the field of big data, implement big data training programs for teachers, follow the principle of education ethics, safeguard the rights and interests of students' development, improve the educational big data policy, advance the legislation of educational big data, standardize the educational big data applications. Only in this way, can we respond to the challenge and seize the opportunity, promote the sustainable and healthy development of big data in education and take advantage of the big data in education to promote student evaluation reform and the comprehensive development of students.
