| Our country is entering an aging society, pension issue is being generally concerned,and it has become an important topic of social services. Among them,the rural pension issues especially need social services because of the dual features of “rural” and “the elderly ”, which lead to the disadvantaged of dual resources. As a special group of the rural the elderly, those who live in rural welfare institutions should gain much more attention, the intervention of professional social working services for them could offer a certain help. Based on this study, I participated in a county in Hubei Province "Three Districts Project" social service projects, selecting nursing homes of Z Town to carry out professional services for more than three months, trying to discuss intervention effect of nostalgic counseling for mental health of the the elderly in rural homes. Through the social practice and research, we found that poor mental condition of the the elderly has been alleviated meanwhile social services has made such mental condition constantly improved during the intervention of nostalgic counseling for the the elderly in rural homes. So I pointed out that social workers should constantly sum up and reflect continuous improvement nostalgic mode, so nostalgic counseling can bring better results to clients.In this paper, nostalgic counseling is the main mode of elderly social work,combined with previous research achievements and shortcomings to carry out social work services for the Z-town rural homes’ the elderly. Based on the sustainable development theory, knowing the living and mental condition of the rural homes’ the elderly, making assessment and analysis for those elderly, and finding the their need and difficult they are facing in the mental health, summed up intervention procedures and application skills of nostalgic services in the single case of the elderly, the professional conception of social workers and nostalgic counseling intervention’s strengths and limitations and so on.Social workers use professional service skills to the case as a case study of nostalgia counseling model summary, and found its involvement advantages and difficulties involved in, for the analysis and reflection: on the one hand, professional social work theory and philosophy combined with the practical process of rural homes’ the elderly,which is able to design more service plans that are in line with the main text of their own needs to achieve the expected results in nostalgic counseling, providing opportunities of professional services for the rural elderly; on the other hand, nostalgic coaching give the corresponding measures and suggestions in the form of professional discussions at the intervention progress of grassroots welfare institutions and sustainability dilemma of mental needs for rural homes’ the elderly, in the sense of service, service skills and service facilities, etc. Finally, the study summarized the effect and significance of nostalgic counseling intervention in the Z-town residential elderly service object, this paper analyzed misuse of horse Slobodan hierarchy’s needs theory in geriatric psychiatry services, also briefly narrated the relevance of nostalgic services for the elderly in rural homes. |
