Effect Of Reminiscence Therapy On Subjective Well-being Of The Elderly

This study aims to explore the effect of reminiscence therapy intervention on the subjective well-being of the elderly by guiding the elderly to review and re-experience the past happy,happy life fragments,especially his experience meaningful things in life,found in the past of the good,and give a new interpretation in the process,and then enhance the subjective well-being.In addition,it also reveals the mechanism of reminiscence therapy on the subjective well-being of the elderly,and constructs the dynamic experience model of subjective well-being of the elderly.In this study,24 elderly people in a nursing home in Suzhou were selected to use the "sociological demographic data" and the "Newfoundland Memorial University Happiness Scale" to compare the 24 elderly people who participated in nostalgia before and after the intervention.The original data of reminiscence therapy intervention were collected using compilation of the interview outline,.The coding idea based on grounded theory was used in the data analysis in order to construct a pre-therapy model,after therapy model for reminiscence therapy of the subjective well-being of the elderly.The results show that:(1)the elderly subjective well-being is better,the total score is at a moderate level.(2)There was no significant difference in subjective well-being of the elderly in gender,education,physical condition.(3)The elderly in the experimental group were significantly different in the "Newfoundland happiness scale" score before and after they received the intervention of reminiscence therapy.This shows that reminiscence therapy intervention is effective in enhancing subjective well-being in the elderly and achieved good results.
