The Application Of Reminiscence Therapy In Psychosocial Services Of The Elderly

In recent years,the news that older people are impaired because their spiritual needs can't be satisfied and their lives are impaired has increased more and more.The mental problems of the elderly have aroused widespread concern from all walks of life.To study how to better provide spiritual comfort for the elderly,improve their life satisfaction,and let the elderly enjoy a late year life,it is important for the construction of active aging.By visiting and investigating the needs of the elderly,the author found that under the trend of reform and development of the unit community,changes in the community environment have had a tremendous impact on the lives of these elderly people.The mental comfort of seniors in B communities is obviously insufficient.They generally have problems such as loss,loneliness and low self-worth.This article takes the elderly in B community as an example.According to the cultural background of the life of elderly people in B community,we use the group method of reminiscence therapy and social work to develop a reminiscing group treatment plan for them,tapping the value of positive memories for the elderly.Through the analysis of the effects of the elderly at the individual level and the community level,it is found that recalling past positive events through the elderly can effectively improve their current negative emotions,enhance their self-esteem and self-confidence,increase their sense of accomplishment and value,and stimulate their subjective initiative.To improve self-service capabilities,in addition to the elderly as one of the main body of community cultural construction,using their stories to reproduce community history and activate community culture,to some extent meet the relevant spiritual needs,and achieve the spiritual comfort of the elderly.In the end,the author rethinks and discusses the shortcomings of the service activities and the application of reminiscence therapy in the practice of spiritual comfort service for the elderly so as to provide some reference for the elderly mental comfort service and the practice of reminiscence therapy.
