| At present,the number of children who learn Chinese no matter in China or in their homeland is increasing.The paper mainly analyzes a set of books named as Biaozhun Zhongwen(《标准中文》)(1-3,revised edition,2006)editted by Cui Luan and Wang Benhua developed by Course Material Research Institute and Research and Development Center of TCSOL(Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages)Course Materials,aiming to summarize this books’strong points and shortcomings so as to provide some useful suggestions and guidance to future compiling of TCSOL course materials for children.The paper is divided into 5 chapters.The first chapter is the introduction of the research subjects,research significance,current situation both at home and abroad,and research methods,theory and references.The second chapter introduces this book’s compiling background,compiling principles and overall features.The third chapter is the analysis of the books’ texts from the perspective of linguistic elements,including speech sound,the spelling of Chinese words,vocabulary and grammar.The forth chapter is the analysis of linguistic-elements exercises of the set of books,summarizing the key points and difficulties of the exercises by analyzing a number of question types and questions.The fifth chapter discusses the good points and shortcomings of the set of books.The set of books that are selected is not only close to the lives of children overseas,but also are equipped with many bright colors and vivid graphics,which makes them practical and interesting;It is able to make the learners practice hard which helps them make gradual progress,also,considering the specificity of children,they scientifically reduced unnecessary rules and made it simple,and highlighted the important parts of each stage,especially emphasizing the interpretation of Chinese character and the practice,which can effectively improve the learners’ writing ability;Various forms of exercises can let the learners get sufficient opportunity of practicing their skills.Nonetheless the set of books lack systemic explanation of voice(such as explanation of the intonations),and also the aspect of word repetition rate is needed to be improved too. |
