470 Class an Olympic item. It control performance is very good. The manoeuvrability of the hull and centreboard has larger influences on success in the regatta. So, crews should have a certain comprehend to the manoeuvrability of the hull and centreboard. At present, Research on the hydrodynamics of the centreboard for 470 Class Yacht is not much. In order to make the coaches and the players to have more scientific knowledge on manoeuvrability of the centreboard, numerical simulation based on Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) is used to study the hydrodynamics of the centreboard with different attack angle, the hydrodynamics of the centreboard with different speed when the attack angle is zero, the hydrodynamics of the single yacht when it without considering the influence of wave resistance, the hydrodynamics of the centreboard which is equipped with the ship with different speed. Combining sailing routes and the roadmap to analysis of the study results, it can give the athletes a best advice about how to adjust the centreboard to get a better results of the race.It is found that the drag Coefficients of the centerboard and the drag Coefficients of the single ship is increasing significantly with the speed increasing, when the centerboard with different attack angle. The rule of the drag coefficients changing with the speed changing is just like a equation of linear regression. So according to the equation of linear regression, it can predict the drag coefficients at any speed. The resistance of centerboard has a maximum when the attack angle is 30°The rule of the lift coefficient changing with the attack angle changing is just like a equation of linear regression. The centerboard with different attack angle will cause varying degrees of heeling on the hull. Due to the mutual influence of the ship body and the centerboard, there are some differences for the hydrodynamics between the single centreboard and the centreboard equipped with the ship, and there are some differences for the hydrodynamics between the single ship and the centreboard equipped with the ship.The drag Coefficients of the centerboard and The drag Coefficients of the single ship were increased when they equipped each other. When the yacht flat floating directly, the athletes can appropriate to hide the centerboard to decrease total resistance by a save way, it can help athletes complete technical moves faster. According to the analysis of the race course and sailing actual navigation route, It is found that there are multiple ship steering and multiple around race marks which will reduce the sailing speed. With the advise witch given by analysing the hydrodynamics of the centerboard when the centerboard with different attack angle witch combined with the actual characteristics of the route, crews in the regatta should make reasonable adjustments to the centreboard to completion the operation regulation of ship steering and the operation regulation of ship steering rapidly. And it is very useful to improve the results of the competition.The disciplines of the Hydrodynamics of the centreboard for 470 Class Yacht would provide a reference for athletes to adjust the centreboard in the training and competition.
