With the development of society globalization has become a trend.Many English Teachers of middle school have realized that cultivating the students' multicultural awareness plays an important role in language teaching.The mind of teaching culture in foreign language teaching has been admitted by teachers.However,there is big difference between the theory and practice.It is necessary for us to learn the English teachers' multicultural awareness of senior middle school especially the teachers in minority prefecture.The first part of the thesis is the research background,it includes the purpose and meaning of the study as well as literature review.It is very important to cultivate the students' multicultural awareness in language teaching.If they can't understand the culture of target language,language learning will be meaningless.So firstly the teachers should have the multicultural awareness.Language plays an important part in culture.When language learners communicate with native speakers they should use proper words in different situation according to context.It is very necessary for teachers to teach and transmit culture in class,fostering the students' multicultural awareness,making the students can understand the culture of other nationalities and share multi-culture.The second chapter of the thesis is research design,it includes the main topic of the study and the target of research as well as research method,it is carried out by questionnaire and then collected the data and analyzed.Chapter three is about the investigation and analysis on English teachers' multicultural awareness of senior middle school in minority prefecture.It includes the discussion and conclusion of the research questions related to investigation.The forth part of the thesis is the strategies that improve the English teachers' multicultural awareness of senior middle school in minority prefecture.By investigating we can learn that the teachers lack of multicultural awareness,and they seldom inculcate the students with the idea in teaching.It is not satisfied that the situation of practice for cultural teaching,their multicultural awareness is not enough.The department of education management should intensify the training for teachers in intercultural knowledge and ability,and the teachers should also learn by themselves to strengthen their multicultural awareness.
