Most students in secondary vocational school don't good records in English.Lacking of vocabulary is the biggest hurdle during their vocational English learning.So the first problem for English teaching is vocabulary learning in secondary vocational school.This study focuses on the practice of English Vocabulary Teaching in secondary vocational schools in China.It aims at the defects existing in the existing researches.That is,the training object and the way lack pertinence and comprehensiveness.Based on the comprehensive theory of vocabulary learning strategy and learning strategy training,theoretical and experimental research are carried on the ways and effects of English vocabulary learning strategies training for students in secondary vocational school.A comprehensive approach to the training for students is proposed.It takes students in secondary vocational school as the training object.The purpose is to enhance students'awareness of English vocabulary autonomous learning and the capacity of English vocabulary.Metacognitive strategies,cognitive strategies are the main training content.The training model is the comprehensiveness of integration and centralization.Questionnaire and vocabulary capacity test are the research tools for data collection.Using SPSS 13.0 statistical software as the data analysis method.The application effect of this comprehensive approach was studied for a period of 12 weeks through pre-test,questionnaire survey,strategy training,post-test and other steps.Students in the experimental class were trained on vocabulary learning strategy for twelve weeks.After that,we found the vocabulary capacity of students in experimental class were much better than the control class.It implicated that appropriate strategy training could intense the consciousness of vocabulary learning although it was lower at present.In other words,those metacognitive strategy training,such as plan making,self-monitor,review and so forth,could help to cultivate good learning habits.Association strategy,word-formation strategy and classification strategy were easy to command for students in secondary vocational school.It came to conclusion that the consciousness and application of vocabulary learning strategy of students in secondary vocational school were all strengthened.
