As the important human resource of university, faculty is the basis of university development, and also the key of the guarantee of teaching quality. With attention to higher education and teaching quality, the idea of faculty development has been accepted and spread widely, faculty development centers also offer good platform for teachers. America is the earliest and most established faculty development centers country, has lots of experience on FDC and significance on China.This research through choice excellence centers in China and America as case to analysis, aimed at find out the gap of construction of centers between China and America through compare placing personnel, capital source, service object, service content, idea and policy. Through learning experience and superiority of America, put forward proposals to China, conclude improving system, perfecting institution setting, expanding sources of funding and spreading ideals of faculty development.
