The Development Of Resource-based City And The Lifestyle Changes Of Upstart Group

The transformation of resource-based cities has become a hot topic in recent years,in this paper,we use interviews and participant observation methods to study the evolution of Ordos which is a typical resource-based city,and we also study the changes of the lifestyle of upstart groups in urban development.In this paper we use the lifecycle theory of resource-based city,the social change theory and the class consumption theory to analyze the development of resource-based cities and the changes of upstart groups’ lifestyle,and then,make suggestions on the transformation of the upstart group’s lifestyle.The study on the transformation of the life style of the rich group has expanded the research content of the resource-based city transformation from the micro-individual level,which has a certain practical significance for the successful transformation of the resource-based city.The first and second chapters of this paper are the introduction and the literature review.In introduction part,we talk about this paper’s background,the purpose and the significance of the article and the theoretical basis of the article.In the second chapter,the paper summarizes the three major concepts of the rich group,resource-based city and lifestyle,and summarizes the domestic and foreign literature on resource-based urban development and lifestyle research.The third chapter of this paper is the social change and the formation of the upstart group,in this part we choose 1949-1999 as the construction period of Ordos,and then we analyze the main social changes in this period.The research shows that the Ordos society has undergone the process of social transformation from the agricultural society to the industrial society,and has realized the process of the economic institutional change of the state-owned economic system reform.After analyzing the process of urban development and the main social changes,this paper analyzes the impact of social changes on the change of lifestyle of the upstart group from three ways:economic life style change,social communication way change and consumption life style change.In the process of transformation from the agricultural society to the industrial society,the economic lifestyle of the upstart group changes from the agricultural livelihood way to the more diversified economic life style,Social interaction mode is the social relationship network reconstruction and social interaction to the shallow development trend,While the consumer life changes from the self-sufficient consumption to the consumption of commodity economy.During this period,the economic lifestyle become more diversification,the social networks has rebuild,and consumer lifestyles live from self-sufficiency.The fourth chapter is the resource-based city prosperity period of social change and the formation of the rich group of life style change,this chapter mainly discusses Ordos city development process and the main social changes in the prosperous period.The paper shows that urbanization is the main social change that occurred in this period,relying on urbanization Ordos’s industrial,real estate industry and the tertiary industry achieves rapid economic growth and urban prosperity.The prosperous period of the city is also the riches of the upstart group,during this period the economic life of the upstart groups change to riches industry,Social interaction is the emergence of a new type of mixed interpersonal relationships,Consumer lifestyle shows the consumption characteristics of sports consumption.The fifth chapter is the social change in the recession period of the resource-based city and the change of the life style of the rich group,in this chapter we sort out the influence of the internal and external environment to the Ordos’s recession process.In the national economy as a whole down and the introduction of real estate control policies,the Ordos coal and real estate industry affected,thereby triggering a private lending crisis,Ordos economic development into recession.During this period,the industry in which the riches of the rich have been subjected to a great impact,the lifestyle of the upstart people has changed again,the economic life style has changed in two different directions,the crisis of trust and kinship has appeared in social communication.The rich group’s consumption life style returns to the rationalization,moreover the rich group’s consumption idea changes from the survival to own development.The sixth chapter is the conclusion and suggestion of the article,this chapter sums up the research of the third chapter,the conclusion of the research result,Communication methods and the transformation of consumer lifestyles made recommendations.
