Cultivating responsible citizens is the important content and value of civic education,and civic education in our country attaches great importance to the cultivation of responsible citizens.A series of documents issued by The CPC and the Chinese Government have stressed the need to cultivate qualified socialist citizens,to guide students to understand and carry out the obligations of citizens,and improve their social responsibility to serve the state and people,cultivating the civic virtues.The high school stage is a very important period of the whole process of cultivating responsible citizens.Due to the high school students in 16 to 18 years of age is a special group of citizens.They are not yet fully mature,and in the critical period of the formation and establishment of outlook on life,world outlook and values,which is the preparatory stage for a citizen independent to social life,to obtain complete citizenship,to enjoy the full civil rights and assume their responsibilities.From the perspective of individual citizens,the responsible citizenship education during this period helps high school students form and develop their personal responsibility character.From the perspective of the whole society,it has important significance for China's democratic political construction,prosperity and development of the country,social stability and harmony to cultivate high school students who are the future successor of national construction to be responsible citizens.This paper focuses on the high school stage,which includes introduction and five chapters.The first and introductory chapter provides the reasons for choosing this research,and elaborates the theoretical and practical research significance,and then related research works in China and abroad are reviewed.The direction and methodology of the research,the originality of the paper are included.Through interpreting the concept of responsibility,citizens and responsible citizens,this paper makes clear the connotation and characteristics of responsible citizens,and expounds the meaning of responsible citizenship cultivation and the cultivation of responsible citizens in high school which is the scope of this paper.Then,the theoretical basis and practical basis of the cultivation of responsible citizens in the second chapter further illustrate the study theoretical and scientific,as well as feasible and necessary.The third part summarizes the principle and content of high school citizenship cultivation systematically based on the above.The principles include adhering to certain value orientation,putting into practice and treating pupils as individuals.The contents include enhancing responsibility consciousness and the development of responsibility and responsibility character.There is a questionnaire survey about the status of responsible citizenship education during the Senior period in the fourth chapter which focuses on four key high schools in Shanghai.The results of data processing and analysis by SPSS software show that the education about responsible citizen in high schools has made some achievements,but on the whole the current high school students have not gained a high level of literacy of responsible citizen.And these problems are mainly due to the inefficient classroom instruction and the single channel related to cultivating responsible citizens,and the lack of coordination among the family,school and society.Finally,the study puts forward specific paths of cultivating responsible citizens in the Senior period based on the school education,which include improving the course teaching all-round based on Ideological and Political Course,taking advantage of the second classroom,and constructing the campus culture of responsible citizens.At the same time,It is necessary to broaden the field of cultivation activities,which advocates the joint efforts of school,family and society,and forms a three-dimensional network training system,so as to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of civic responsibility cultivation to make the high school student a responsible citizen.
