In this paper,the spatial distribution of resident population in Shanghai is studied,in three stages analyzed kindergarten,primary and junior middle school age population spatial change,to explore the characteristics of the school-age population space,further to analysis the reasons behind the space transformation and the resulting effects.Based on the comprehensive analysis of the literatures related to the spatial distribution of school-age population,this paper makes an empirical study on the spatial distribution of resident population in Shanghai since the reform and opening-up,using the data of Shanghai Census,Shanghai Education Yearbook and Shanghai Statistical Yearbook.The article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is introduces the research background,the significance of the research,research methods,data source,the research reviewed and the definition of relevant concepts.In the second,third and fourth chapters presets the spatial distribution of school-age population of Shanghai kindergarten,primary school and junior middle school during the period of "three generalizations and four generalizations","four generalizations and five generalizations","five generalizations and six generalizations",As well as the causes and effects of the distribution changes.The fifth chapter,through the analysis and summary of the above three stages(1982-1990,1990-2000,2000-2010),draws the corresponding conclusion and in order to better promote Shanghai based education resource equilibrium configuration,putting forward corresponding suggestions.The main finding:1.In the period of 1982-2010,Shanghai resident school-age population are moving to the suburbs;2.A lager number of school-age population move to suburb,not only create pressure but also bring development opportunities to rural education;3.The primary factor of population change is the spatial distribution change of foreign resident school-age population;4.The implementation of the two child policy could further aggravate the present of rural education resources insufficient.Therefor,Based on large data,establishing database of school-age population dynamics;For migrant children school regulation,encourage the development of private education;It is important to promote the rational flow of regional teachers,aim to balanced education resources;In the suburbs,push forward the school building campus,promote quality resources equalization;At the same time,to strengthen the cooperation of the rural schools and universities,enhance the self-development capacity of the school.
