In recent years,critical reading has attracted more and more researchers' attention.Critical reading requires that the readers should be skeptical to analyze the context and objectively evaluate the viewpoints.Through excavating the deeper-level information,the readers could have deeper comprehension to the text.The western countries have an earlier beginning on the study of students' critical reading ability.However,the start of relevant researches in our country is relativeiy late,and most of them are concentrated on the theory.Hence,through exploring the cultivating strategies and specific teaching methods for senior high school students' critical reading ability,the author proposes the experimental study to testify the teaching performance of critical reading teaching in senior high school.This study was based on constructive learning theory.Through studying and synthes izing relevant artic les,exploring the current research situation,the author clarified the necessity and certainty of the critical reading teaching of senior high school.The author chose two parallel classes as the research subjects,and adopted traditional and critical reading teaching to conduct English reading teaching.During the study,the author adopted questionnaires,interviews,tests and data analyses to research critical reading teaching.In the later stage of study,the author scientifically compared and analyzed the test results,and conducted questionnaires and interviews with the students from CC to invest their satisfaction for critical reading teaching.The results indicated that critical reading teaching could improve students' reading proficiency.Compered with the pre-test,in the post-test,P=0.000<0.05,students' scores have obvious improvement.Critical reading teaching could improve students' critical reading ability.After the experiment,in the lexical inference,text comprehension and analytical inference,the students have improvement of 16.5%,19% and 18.6%.Critical reading teaching could improve students' critical reading awareness,students could deepen their understanding of critical reading and improved their application awareness.Most of the students were satisfied with the critical reading teaching.
