Symbolic-graphic combination is the basic way of mathematical research and exploration,it is also one of the basic mental skills,which embodies the process of human exploration of mathematics.The cultivation of symbolic-graphic ability is an indispensable carrier to enhance students' mathematics literacy.Although the cultivation of students' symbolic-graphic ability has become an important research topic,high school students' ability of symbolic-graphic is weak,there are still some problems in teaching from the current status of education.So this article studies how to develop students' mental skills of combining the number and shape,to enhance the ability of combining the number and shape in-depth with the help of some researches relate to mental skills.Four kinds of research methods,which are literature research method,survey method,statistical analysis method and interview method are used to investigate the current situation of high school students 'combination of mental skills and strive to find the strategies to improve students' numbers and mental skills in this study.This article is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 tells the background of the research,problems that exist in current teaching and decides the direction of this research from three aspects which are curriculum standards,college entrance examination features,mathematics teaching.Chapter 2 defines the concept of this study and puts forward the research theories relate to this article through literature analysis.Chapter 3 summarizes the status quot of research on the combination of numbers and the research of mental skills from the perspective of domestic and foreign.Chapter 4 is empirical research which understands the status quot of high school students 'combination of mental skills through investigation and interview.The results show that the overall level of high school students' combination of mental skills is relatively low.Combined withthe results of interviews,the mental skills relate theories,from the internal conditions and external conditions of number of mental skills,the conclusions are as follows.The internal factors that affect students' ability of numbers combined with mental activity are mainly students' the existed knowledge and skills,the ability of summing up,the flexibility of thinking and learning initiative and enthusiasm.The external factors are the teacher's demonstration and training guidance,the system of scientific teaching model.Chapter 5 puts forward the three strategies on the basis of the investigation results,the internal conditions and external conditions of developing mental skills,students' learning and teachers' teaching which are determining the focus according to the division stage,strengthening consciousness,consolidating the foundation and demonstrating guide,upgrading ability comprehensively.Chapter 6 summarizes the conclusions of this paper and puts forward a new prospect for the shortcomings in this paper on the basis of conclusions.
