Case Study Of Occupational Therapy For Children With ASD

Occupational therapy is one of the most frequently received treatments for children with ASD.The distinct value that the profession of occupational therapy provides to families of people with ASD is its holism and the ecological view.This study ia aimed to help children with ASD in the guidance of the occupational therapy principle of people-oriented,exploring the effectiveness of the occupational therapy service based on craft activities for the children with ASD.In this study,a case study was conducted on a 5 years old girl with ASD by an A-B-A design.Data was collected from diversal sources,including developmental assessment,videos,interviews and so on,and was analyzed by quantitive and qualitative methods.Results showed:(1)Occupational therapy based on craft activities can promote the case’s overall development,such as fine motor,language and commnication,social interaction and emotion.(2)Occupational therapy based on craft activities has positive effect on the case’s interaction with his/her eco system.It has good ecological validity as well.(3)Ecological assessment,the handle of the core concept of occupational therapy are tihe key of treatment effect...
