The Investigation Of Current Children's Interest In Basketball In Wuhan City And Relevant Development Strategies

As everyone knows, Interest is the best teacher, which has been the most necessary factor of children's every mental and physical development. As an example, the childhood is the enlightenment stage of children's development of interest in basketball, remaining and developing the interest will influence children whether to continue to participate in basketball with their love. But in the early period of basketball teaching and training, we obviously could find out that some teachers' very single teaching methods, boring form of teaching organization, putting too much attention on basic skills, these acts of basketball teaching all are contrary to the cultivation of children's interest in basketball. And what is more worrying about is the children's mechanized performance in class, the orderly ranks, their parents regard these performances as the profession, in fact, they all have ignored children's development of interest, and what they like. Based on the above issues, the writer of this paper randomly choose 100 young rookie basketball player from five popular children basketball training institutions in Wuhan city as the research object, applying the literature method, questionnaire method, statistics analysis and logical analysis to the investigation of current children's interest in basketball, then put forward some relevant development strategies. Through this research, I have drawn three conclusions in the following:(1) From the investigation for the current situation of children's interest in basketball, we can see that most of children are interested in basketball, but the current situation of their participation in basketball is not optimistic, we can find out that children's interest in basketball is in a sort of “missing” status. The coaches' teaching behavior has a certain influence on the children's feelings and the level of focus in the basketball course, the teaching content that coaches arranged also has got some problems. Children's parents are generally supporting them to participate in basketball, also parents have got some deviations for children's basketball learning, they put more attention to the results of children's basketball skills, do not take the cultivation of children's interest in basketball as the focus.(2) The main factors that affect children's interest in basketball are: children themselves, parents' influential factor in children's interest in basketball, the coaches' influential factor and the constraints from the family and public basketball stadium.(3) Four relevant strategies are proposed for the cultivation of children's interest in basketball: 1.Basketball games for attracting children's interest in “playing” basketball; 2.The arrangement of teaching content should be based on the children's characteristic of psychological development; 3.Establish a concept of combining school, family with community for the basketball participation; 4. Consciously guide the children to learn how to appreciate the basketball.
