Basketball sport is an important content of school physical education, is to improve students’ physical development, improve students physical health. In the middle school sports teaching activity, plays basketball course indispensable important Angle. High school basketball in-depth development of good college basketball extensive good foundation; On the other hand, the development of the high school basketball will promote the development of primary school basketball. Only primary school basketball is closely combined with high school basketball, corresponding to an elementary school, middle school and university basketball talent cultivation system,to make it in our country’s education system to improve and development, and for basketball in China to lay the good foundation to cultivate more excellent basketball talent. Therefore, present situation of the high school basketball in Wuhan has carried on the investigation and study, understand and grasp systematically the middle school basketball movement development present situation and the form, for the sustainable development of Wuhan city high school basketball according to theoretical basis,make the Wuhan city middle school basketball sports popularization and development of a deeper level.This text uses the method of documents and materials, questionnaire investigation, data statistics and logical analysis, field observation method, expert interview method, randomly selected from the many high school of Wuhan city ten middle school teachers and students as the research object, including the second middle school in Wuhan, Wuhan sixth middle school, Wuhan 23 middle school,Zhuodaoquan middle school, a middle school, no road, Hongshan school, middle school high school in barrier, Caidian middle school, Huangpi first middle school.Through this ten middle school basketball curriculum situation, basketball teaching activities, extracurricular activities, teachers and students the basic situation of four aspects carries on the analysis, grasp the current situation of Wuhan city high school basketball and limit its factors, the following conclusions:1.The current high school in Wuhan city in the basketball movement and to carry out the ideal condition, the majority of students in basketball sports have higher interest and motivation, the vast majority of school set up a basketball course in physical education curriculum, the course mainly concentrated in the first year and second year, the course hours reduced gradually along with the rise of student grade,students don’t feel satisfied with this situation. And the vast majority of schools in the teaching process not use unified teaching materials and even does not apply to any materials.2.In Wuhan city middle school basketball teaching activities, teachers will arrange more rich teaching contents to promote students to actively on basketball. But most of the students think that the current sports teachers’ teaching method is old, so students in the teaching and means are not satisfied. And to examine the teacher to the student’s main considered factors are for the technical achievement, learning attitudeand participation in three aspects, help students to develop good exercise habits and lifetime sports thought.3.Wuhan middle school basketball extracurricular activities to carry out the situation is not ideal. Most of the students extracurricular participation basketball movement of the low frequency, short duration, the situation is not in conformity with the prescribed in the regulations on the school sports work frequency, duration, etc.The frequency of the school basketball competition also is low the campus basketball competition atmosphere is relatively weak.4.Most of the physical education teachers in middle school in Wuhan city as a basketball special physical education teachers, but most of the PE teachers’ basic knowledge and technical skills of basketball, which is handy for the school basketball teaching work smoothly. However, there are quite a number of teachers lack of opportunity to learn and communicate, and part of the teachers accept the non-specialist the system training, this is largely limits the concept of basketball technique and practice experience of physical education teachers and sports teachers’ basketball the renewal speed of knowledge, the rules of the game, which hinder the improvement of the PE teachers’ overall quality, will be conducive to the development of Wuhan city high school basketball.5.Most of the current basketball teachers in Wuhan city think that the main factor of restricting the middle school basketball teaching is the comprehensive quality of teachers, teaching methods and means, teaching space and equipment. While most of the students think the main factor that restricts play basketball sports is the school the lack of space equipment, learning stress, the atmosphere of the school basketball are strong enough. Basketball the lack of space equipment has become an important factor of restricting middle school basketball recognized.
