At present,with Chinese higher education entering the “post-popularization” phase,the current education scale is increasingly being expanded,and the number of college students also presents a tendency of progressive increase.However,how to make higher education smoothly transform from the “denotative pattern” to the “connotative pattern” is a new challenge that colleges must face today.The raise of “student-centered” education philosophy can offer a new perspective to the management of Chinese college students.Firstly,this study,by applying various research methods and following the research thought of “what-why-how”,presents a profound interpretation on the connotation of the “student-centered” education philosophy from the following several dimensions: Its logical starting point is to start from the development of students;the qualitative requirement is to pay attention to the development of all the students;the quantitative formulation is to pay attention to the all-round development of students;the essence is to promote the development of students' initiative;the era feature is to pay attention to the students' individual development;the ultimate value is to pay attention to the sustainable development of the students;the essential condition of realization is to give a full play of the teacher as the leading role.Secondly,the study,from the perspective of historical scanning,carries out a historical review on the embodiment of the “student-centered” education philosophy abroad and at home.It figures out the development vein of the philosophy,and classifies its evolution into three phases: the preliminary sprout,the abundance and development,the official establishment and deepening,which can radically clear up the sources for various kinds of problems in reality.Thirdly,the study gives an illustration of the realistic value of implementing a philosophy through the analysis in details.Finally,based on the above-mentioned discussion,the study comes up with the specific and targeted routes of realizing the “student-centered” education philosophy from the following three levels,including the concept permeation,optimizing the ways and means and modifying the evaluation pattern.The research findings are of great value for the quality improvement of Chinese higher education,especially for promoting the administrative ability.
