The oral English teaching in rural high school is concerned by more and more scholars with the process of development of the new curriculum reform. However, English teaching in rural areas has been dominated by the traditional test-oriented teaching mode for a long time, ignoring the students' English practical skills and self-teaching ability. English teaching under the new curriculum requires the cultivation of students' comprehensive language competence, especially the English-speaking ability. But there are still some problems in present rural English class. Students can not have enough opportunities to practice their oral English. And their participation in the classroom is not sufficient. Lacking the effective conversational interaction causes the poor language proficiency. As a result, the language competence of students can not be improved and they will be frustrated and take negative attitudes about learning. In this case, the rural English teaching quality is seriously influenced. Therefore, it's very essential to make a conversational interaction in rural English classroom and improve students' oral English.There are many restrictions in rural English teaching, so in order to cultivate students' English proficiency and change the traditional teaching method, what kind of teaching modes and methods to adopt is a key issue. The author has read literature related to the research about conversational interaction abroad and in China. The author also analyzes the problems existing in the rural English class reform, and makes explorations on how to make an effective conversational interaction in English teaching. The research verifies the conversational interaction in English classroom can improve students' oral English and language proficiency, and encourages students' participation and highlight their dominant role in the classroom. Teachers need to observe whether the language input and output is balanced in the classroom to make students gain abundant and optimized input as well as many opportunities of using language, which enhance comprehensive language-using ability. During the process, teachers need try to use various styles of the interaction to achieve the English interactive teaching.The study takes the Interaction Hypothesis in the second language acquisition, interactionist theory and psycholinguistic interactionist theory as the theoretical framework. The author adopts classroom observation, literature review, interview, questionnaire, and experiment to conduct the study. Meanwhile, the author designs an empirical teaching experiment between the control class and experimental class. According to the data from pre-test and post-test, the study tests the student's academic records can be improved by classroom conversational interaction. And on the basis of data analysis, the influence of conversational interaction on oral English can be found.The results of the study show that students accept the classroom conversational interactive teaching. The attitudes of students in English learning are perfected and their participation in English classroom is also improved. Students can be provided a great number of opportunities for language input. Their oral English and communicative competence is improved as well. Meanwhile, the author accumulates some experience and new knowledge in the study, and summarizes some strategies and inspiration in classroom communicative teaching, which can offer some references to teachers. Though there are many limitations in the study, it provides some positive impacts on the English teaching in the author's rural school.
