Analytic geometry is anessential module of high school mathematics in our country as well as an important point of the provincial college entrance examination every year,though a lot of students find it difficult to study analytic geometry.This study aims to find out learning issues in analytic geometry,dissect its reason and provide solutions.This study takes the combination of qualitative and quantitative hybrid research methods and combs the examinational situations in Jiangsu college entrance examination these years by document research.Then in the teaching class investigation,the study analyses students' understanding of core concepts,application of demonstration,derivation and basic concepts of basic formulas.The study finds that students' main problems in learning analytic geometry as following:(1)Students have a poor understanding of the basic formulas of analytic geometry;(2)students have some misunderstanding of the basic concepts of analytic geometry;(3)students have a poor Algebra-processing capacity in solving analytic geometry problems.The reasons for the problem is:(1)Students' attitude towards learning analytic geometry is not correct;(2)the specialty in analytic geometry itself makes it difficult to learn;(3)teachers don't have enough teaching knowledge or proper teaching strategies.In the end,this study provides teaching strategies accordingly in the improvement in understanding and application of the concepts,deepening the understanding of basic geometry concepts,cultivating arithmetic capability.
