As a comnon type of classroom interaction,teacher-student interaction is of vital importance.A large number of studies have shown that good teacher-s-tudent interaction has a positive effect on both students and teachers.Exploring the current situation of teacher-student interaction in schools for children with intellectual disability(ID),this study aims to provide reference in terms of cont-ent and method for future research,contribute empirical data and enrich the th-eoretical research results in this area,as well as make suggestions in promotin-g the development of students,teachers' professional level,educational quality of schools for children with ID.Participatory observation method and Brophy-Good Dyadic Interaction Syst-em are adopted to record and analyze teacher-student interaction between 45 s-tudents and 17 teachers over 3 learning sessions(Life Chinese,Life mathematic-cs,Life adaptation)and 18 classes in a school for children with ID.The main results are as follows:(1)teachers play a dominant role in clas-sroom teacher-student interaction in schools for children with ID.Students' par-ticipation is extremely low in the class;(2)Interaction between teacher and in-dividual students is the main type of classroom teacher-student interaction in s-chools for children with ID;(3)Learning is the main content of classroom te-acher-student interaction in schools for children with ID;(4)Big differences a-re found in classroom teacher-student interaction among different students and disciplines but not teachers.Teacher-student interaction in schools for children with ID are more affected by subjects,learning sessions,the academic achieve-ment of students,while less affected by students' disability types and severity,students' gender,teachers' educational background,professional background as well as teachers' career stage.The author puts forward the following suggestions:(1)To stimulate stude-nts' learning motivation and improve students' participation in classroom in sc-hools for children with ID;(2)To teach students in accordance of their aptitu-de and promote the development of every exceptional student;(3)Diverse teac-her-student interaction forms are advocated(encouraged)in classroom.
