Affected by the traditional customs and culture,coupled with the economic level is limited, in our country about 70% of the dementia elderly living at home, by family members or people care, living in rural areas of dementia patients is the vast majority of lack of professional care, life Quality decreased significantly. Social work is a professional discipline developed from the west, and it holds the concept of "helping people to help themselves", and provides professional services to individuals, families and groups in need. Under the guidance of professional values and ethics, social work has an irreplaceable role in solving the difficulties and problems faced by senile dementia and improving the quality of life of senile dementia.This article through the questionnaire survey, field surveys and other methods to understand the current situation and problems of the elderly dementia and needs, takes grandma X as an example, from the perspective of improving the life quality of the elderly dementia, from the economic, physical, psychological and social aspects of the four cases of X grandmother intervention, in accordance with the general mode of social work, the use of nostalgia and other professional practices, and ultimately improve the quality of life of X's grandmother.
