This paper mainly applied the five senses therapy to the work of the elderly Alzheimer’s disease group to see whether it has a positive effect on the treatment of the condition. With the gradual acceleration of China’s modernization process, the social pressure of the young people is increasing, and they have their own thoughts and choices about the inevitable stages of life in traditional concepts such as marriage and childbirth. In addition, the imbalance of the sex ratio between men and women and the rise of women’s status have resulted in more and more men being forced to remain single or women actively choosing to remain single, which greatly reduces the social fertility desire. As a result, the aging problem of population has become increasingly prominent, especially serious in cities. Most of the elderly over 60 years old live in the old residential areas that have been relocated back, while the couples of the younger generation mostly move to the nearby high-grade commercial housing due to their marriage. As a result, most of the daily care of the elderly is undertaken by themselves and their spouses, and their children only visit the elderly on weekends and holidays due to work and other factors.Among the elderly people in these old communities, the number of those with memory loss, weakened physical function and even mild Alzheimer’s disease accounts for a relatively high proportion of the total number of the community. The society, especially in big cities, should pay more attention to the elderly people with mild and moderate Alzheimer’s disease when doing elderly work. The author in the field visit to the participation of community found many events object for the body is in good condition, with less family burden, the event will stronger "" community activists and ignoring the patients with mild alzheimer’s disease, dementia old man’s participation, their social support networks in the community that on the one hand, the weaker. The author chooses the topic of this study to improve the elderly’s memory decline and physical function in terms of physiology. The second is to increase the opportunity for the elderly with mild Alzheimer’s disease to contact with the outside world, which is more than the communication with other elderly in the community. It breaks the fear that most elderly people are lost because of their family caregivers. For years, the elderly do not communicate with the society and the outside world at home, resulting in loneliness, loneliness and even depression and other symptoms of the elderly, and provides more comfort to the elderly psychologically.Third,we should provide more social care to the elderly with Alzheimer’s disease and strengthen the community support network with which they have close contact. From the purpose of caring for the physical and mental health development of the elderly,I choose the topic of this paper.Further through literature review, the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease is divided into drug therapy and non-drug therapy.Drug treatment is unaffordable for most ordinary families, and drugs for Alzheimer’s disease are expensive and their effectiveness varies from person to person. Many scholars have made many explorations in the way of non-drug therapy and achieved certain results. This paper starts from the way of non-drug therapy and applies the way of group work to carry out the five senses therapy and group activities throughout. To see if the group improved in the five senses of sight, hearing, smell, perception and speech.Through 7 group activities carefully designed by the author, the participant observation method, the scale measurement method of patients after the activities and the interview method of family caregivers were used to conclude that the group members’ abilities in all aspects were improved after the activities, and they were also more moderate. It follows that the "five senses therapy" is effective in treating elderly patients with mild memory loss. This group activity gives full play to the advantages of social work in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, and has certain reference significance for the methods of carrying out social work for the elderly in the future.
