With the rapid development of the times and the emergence of multimedia technology,the Chinese class of primary school has changed a lot,in the meanwhile,the role of multimedia in teaching has became more and more significant.For the advantage such as richness in information and content,creativeness in format and so on,multimedia teaching has been favored by the majority of Chinese educators and widely used.However,because not all the teachers do well in grasping characteristics,skills and methods of multimedia teaching,the multimedia teaching advantages are not exploited effectively,but even also produced a series of negative influence.Therefore,it is essential to investigate the negative effect of multimedia teaching on the Chinese class in primary schools.For the first research method-questionnaire,this paper selected 327 primary school students from four,five,and six grades as the research subjects,and investigated the present status of primary school Chinese multimedia teaching practice.Besides questionnaire,the research method of field observation was also combined.Through the analysis and discussion of the results of the survey and observation,the thesis concludes with the following conclusions:Multimedia plays an auxiliary role in the Chinese class of primary school,However,some negative effects have been produced due to improper operation and use,specific performance in the following five aspects:multimedia teaching causes disorder of information processing of students;multimedia teaching distracts the attention of students;multimedia teaching reduces opportunity of training the students' logical thinking;multimedia teaching reduces the space of imaginary thinking of students;Multimedia teaching reduces the emotional communication between teachers and students,students and students.Based on the above conclusions,the following strategies are proposed:The teaching content should match the teaching objective,the quantity of it should be proper for the use of multimedia,the breadth and depth of teaching content should be expanded;the selected multimedia material should be clear and striking,and should express the focus and difficulty of teaching accurately.Interface design should highlight the focus of teaching content,eliminate irrelevant components which can distract students' attention,and make enough use of CGI to attract students'attention and let them observe accurately and rapidly.Teachers should grasp the timing and pace of the implementation of teaching activities when they make use of multimedia teaching information,and present properly explanation,tips,questions,comments,demonstration and other supporting activities.
