Educational equity or educational inequality has always been a hot topic of academia. Most of the previous concerns about education inequality focus on school education or macro education systems. But little attention is paid to "shadow education".With the increasing popularity and popularization of shadow education, the function of social reproduction of shadow education is gradually concerned and confirmed by the empirical research both at home and abroad.Related researches about the social reproduction function of shadow education are mostly based on the students and their families' social capital level. From the perspective of the shadow education institutions,it is rarely involved in the study of how the shadow education has.a function of social reproduction in the specific mechanism. This paper starts from the external environment of educational inequality, pointing out that in the stage of compulsory education, the close enrollment policy of public schools leads to the increasingly fierce competition for high quality resources.People from the dominant class can buy school rooms and call relationships and other social capital to ensure that their children get high quality educational resources. In addition, private schools with relatjively large enrollment autonomy, especially private middle schools, have become the quality education resources of Nanjing, and private schools are becoming the object of competition for parents and students, and attract a large number of high quality students. In the stage from elementary school to junior school, some public "key schools" and "traditional schools" have adopted self-enrollment and advance admission and private schools compete for quality students.Even if the education sector clearly stipulates that not all kinds of competition or grade of learning as a basis for admission or reference, but whether it is public schools in advance or private school enrollment, the core of its enrollment is still the traditional "test ability",That is,the grade in primary school.China's education authorities strictly regulate the behavior of school and students, including the time of students in school?the number of school examinations are strictly limited. And in order to maintain a competitive advantage, students need considerable training. In this way, there is an irreconcilable contradiction between the demands of quality education and the unavoidable pressure to study. As the shadow education to meet the parents and students on the ability to test and the need to compete,to participate in extracurricular tuition has become a very common phenomenon,it can be said that the competition for quality education resources has been transferred from school to school.Through the case study of the shadow education institution X in Nanjing, this paper draws on the principle of maximizing unequal inequality(MMI)and effectively maintaining the inequality theory(EMI).From the point of view of the remedial institution,X,the author studies the detailed description of the content, the way and the means of the shadow education, then reveals the concrete realization mechanism of the social reproduction of the shadow education in the compulsory education stage. The author believes that in order to maximize or effectively maintain the advantages of education inequality, the superior class's competition for quality education resources has been transferred from school education to shadow education. As a provider of high quality shadow education resources, the shadow education institution X has become the " Key school system " and " Experimental class system "through "the entrance examination system" and "the hierarchical teaching system",thus revealing the shadow education social reproduction of the two specific realization mechanism.
