Teaching role is the most essential role of faculty.In the era of knowledge explosion,the process of the popularization of higher education,informationization and the evaluation system of faculty all have great impact and challenge to the teaching role of faculty.Under the background of "double first-class" construction of higher education in our country,the comprehending and practice of faculty's teaching role affects the quality of teaching and the quality of personnel training and even the development of universities directly.In this research,the teaching role is studied in the field of the scholarship of teaching,and the ‘actuality' and ‘should however'of teaching roles are excavated,and then the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward.The study is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,this part mainly introduces the reason of the thesis,the research status quo at home and abroad,the significance of this research and the research thinking and method.The second part is the second and third chapter.This part discusses the connotation of the scholarship of teaching from academic and teaching level,and points out that the basic elements of the scholarship of teaching should include practice,reflection,knowledge and communication.The deepness of teaching content,the complexity of teaching object,the exploration of teaching process and the diversity of teaching purpose all prove that university teaching has academic characteristics.On the basis of this,the scholarship of teaching and the teaching role are combined to evaluate the value and answer "why we need the scholarship of teaching?" From the improving of role conflict and the double-value regression to analysis.The third part is the fourth chapter.This part is based on the theoretical analysis in the previous text,pointing out the " should however " of the teaching role in the perspective of the scholarship of teaching.The teaching role will be positioned as the teacher who pursuits the teaching knowledge,reflect the teaching practice,share teaching experience,participate teaching management,self-development of teaching and the organizer of teaching communication.The fourth part is the fifth chapter of the paper.Analysing the ‘actuality' of teaching role.This part transfers the horizon to the teaching practice field and tries to outline the ‘should however' of teaching role through the perception,reflection,communication,management,development and interaction.The fifth part is the sixth chapter of the paper,the construction of the teaching role.This part combines the third and the fourth part to put forward specific construction approach.
