Since the introduction of symbol sense,has been closely watched by scholars in education,we have carried out theoretical research and empirical research.Throughout the study of symbol sense in China,scholars have a lot of research perspectives,there are studies on the connotation and dimension of symbol sense,the research of cultivating students 'symbol sense,and the research on the status and characteristics of students' symbol sense.The existing research is mainly based on senior students,the research level is also limited to the behavior level of the questionnaire and the correlation with the mathematical achievements of the analysis.But this article to the first grade students as the object of study,from the behavior and the nerve of the concept of symbol sense of the characteristics of the study;Further explored the relationship between symbol sense and math academic achievement and general cognitive ability by using mediating effect analysis.In this study,75 students in the first grade of a compulsory primary school in Jianggan District of Hangzhou City were selected to study the characteristics of symbol sensein of the first grade students by using questionnaires,interviews and EEG methods;the relationship of the symbol sense,general cognitive ability and math academic achievement.Get the following result:1.The characteristics of symbol sense in the early years of development of first grade students:At the behavior level.First,at the concept level,the first year of primary school students in the symbolic understanding of the above performance is better,in the symbolic representation,reasoning and computing dimensions on the general performance.Among them,the students of the high symbol consciousness group performed better in all dimensions,and the students in the symbolic consciousness group performed better in the symbolic understanding and symbolic dimension,but the performance of the symbolic reasoning and the symbolic operation dimension was still to be strengthened.Conscious group students only in the symbolic understanding of the digital symbols to understand the performance of the better,the rest are poorperformance.Secondly,the average value of the correctness of students 'digital matching is 0.7261,and there is a high accuracy of the students' high probability of matching.At the neurological level,students with only high math symbols show that the numerically induced N170 amplitude is greater than that of Chinese characters,whereas low and medium sign group students do not show significant digital sensitivity.2.The results of correlation and regression analysis show that students' symbol sense is related to math academic achievement and general cognitive ability.The results of the mediator effect analysis further reveal the interaction path of the three:(1).Visual perception spatial ability to the role of the neural level symbol sense to sense of consciousness level of symbol sense;(2)visual perception of space ability to sense the level of symbol sense to the role of mathematics academic achievement;(3)visual perception of spatial ability to the concept of the level of symbol sense to the role of mathematics academic achievement.Therefore,this paper has two conclusions:First,the first grade students in the early development of the symbol sense has been significantly differentiated,and in the behavior and nerve levels are significantly different.Second,visual perception of spatial ability through the impact of symbolic consciousness on the student's academic achievement.This study not only provides new evidence for deep understanding of the symbolic consciousness of junior students and their relationship with mathematics achievements,but also provides scientific guidance for better practice of early mathematics education.
