Mathematical symbol is a carrier of understanding mathematics and expressing mathematics.It can help people understand the mathematical principles behind natural phenomena and understand the aesthetic value of mathematics.At the same time,it can also promote the development of logical reasoning ability and sublimate the expression of mathematical reading.Visible,there is an invisible relationship between mathematical symbols,logical reasoning and mathematical reading,it is necessary to get rid of the fog to see the truth.In fact,researchers have found that there is a significant correlation between mathematical symbol sense,mathematical reading ability and logical reasoning ability,and also found that these mathematical abilities have a direct impact on students’ academic performance,and put forward relevant training strategies to help teachers ’bundle’ improve some mathematical abilities.However,the current research focuses on the influence of a single factor,and has not yet involved the influence of a combination of single factors.In order to understand the influence of the combination of single factors more comprehensively,this paper studies the influence of mathematical symbol sense and mathematical reading ability on logical reasoning ability.This paper takes the seventh grade students as the research object.Firstly,the concept definition and theoretical framework of logical reasoning ability,mathematical symbol sense and mathematical reading ability are determined by literature retrieval method.Based on the excellent results,the logical reasoning ability test paper,mathematical symbol sense test paper and mathematical reading ability test paper are compiled.The students’ test papers are collected and analyzed,and the following conclusions are obtained :(1)Grade 7 students’ logical reasoning ability,mathematical symbol sense,and mathematics reading ability are generally good,and the overall score of girls is slightly higher than that of boys.But there is no gender difference in mathematical symbol sense and logical reasoning ability,and there is significant gender difference in mathematical reading ability.(2)In the correlation analysis of mathematical symbol sense,mathematical reading ability and logical reasoning ability,whether it is a single factor analysis or comprehensive factor analysis,there is a significant correlation,but the correlation coefficient between mathematical symbol sense and mathematical reading ability is higher,indicating that the correlation of comprehensive factors is stronger.Among them,the mathematical symbol sense dimension symbol recognition,symbol representation,symbol operation,symbol reasoning and logical reasoning ability also maintain significant correlation.The correlation of mathematics reading ability is different in that it has a higher correlation with overall understanding and reflection expansion,and a lower correlation with mutual translation.(3)In the regression analysis,whether it is a single factor analysis or comprehensive factor analysis,mathematical symbol sense,mathematical reading ability and logical reasoning ability have significant positive linear correlation.Through regression analysis,the regression equations with significant correlation are fitted,and the logical reasoning ability can be predicted by mathematical symbol sense and mathematical reading ability.From the R square value of the regression model,the R square value of the comprehensive factor is the largest,indicating that the regression model of the comprehensive factor fitting is the best,which can explain 35.6 % of the logical reasoning ability.According to the research results,combined with the teaching practice,this paper puts forward some reference suggestions for grade 7 teaching : in the teaching of mathematical symbol sense,we should pay attention to the connotation cognition of abstract symbols,attach importance to the norms of mathematical symbol reasoning,and attach importance to the use of mathematical tools.In the teaching of mathematics reading ability,we should cultivate students ’ reading habits and arrange exploratory reading assignments.In the teaching of logical reasoning ability,we should pay attention to students’ ability to analyze abstract information and the cultivation of students’ plausible reasoning ability,And teachers need to improve the frequency of classroom logical language.
