From primary school to middle school,mathematical symbols will be more common through out the students' mathematics learning.With the continuous expansion of knowledge,the form of symbols will be gradually simplified.But the meaning of symbol is more complex and abstract.If students can not grasp the meaning of symbols well,it will lead to the difficulty of understanding and expression of mathematical problems.Therefore,more and more educators begin to pay attention to the teaching and learning of mathematical symbols in junior high school.The concept of "symbol sense" is also put forward in the curriculum standard.It is one of the top ten core words in mathematics,and also one of the key abilities to cultivate.For the seventh grade students,their thinking is often not free from the shackles of specific experience.When they face symbols,they may have cognitive difficulties.To cultivate students' sense of symbols and help them break through the difficulties in understanding,expressing and using mathematical symbols should be the key goal of mathematics teaching in grade seven.From the perspective of mathematics teaching,combined with the current PEP junior high school mathematics textbooks,this paper makes a systematic research on the status quo of seventh grade students' symbol consciousness.The first chapter expounds the necessity of studying students' symbol consciousness exhibition under the current education background.The second chapter summarizes the research results of symbolic consciousness by experts and scholars at home and abroad.The third chapter describes the classification of mathematical symbols and the dimension division of symbol consciousness.In the fourth chapter,the author carries out a questionnaire survey and interviews with the seventh grade students of Tianjin No.14 Middle School,and summarizes the results.The fifth chapter summarizes the problems and obstacles in the development of symbol consciousness of seventh grade students according to the results of questionnaire survey.The sixth chapter discusses the negative influence of teachers on the development of symbolic consciousness of seventh grade students.In the seventh chapter,the teacher investigates the problems of middle school students and puts forward some teaching suggestions to cultivate students' symbol consciousness.In the seventh chapter,according to the problems of the questionnaire survey,the author puts forward some teaching suggestions to cultivate students' symbol consciousness.The eighth chapter summarizes the conclusions of this study and reflects on the deficiencies.
