A Survey On The History And Culture And Skills Of Cane Shield Theory Of Xingtai Based On Field Studies

Folk Wushu artistries,with its artless original style and strong local flavor,is a unique form of body movement created by the Chinese people in their struggle for survival.Wushu scholars in modern times believe that the ups and downs in its historical development and its accumulation of culture are both the root of the development of Chinese martial arts and the holographic epitome of the Chinese traditional culture.Since farming civilization determin es regional characteristics of folk art groups,currently,folk martial arts practitioners and research groups are experiencing the marginalization tendency due to disruptive change in the social system and the acceleration of urbanization and informatization.Moreover,due to the death of those folk martial arts person,some martial arts cannot be carried on as they should.Because of this,not only are Some Folk Wushu cultures gradually away from the masses view but also their deserved status cannot be achieved.The folk art cane shields are a non renewable intangible cultural heritage.Currently,the only person mastering this art is Hu Daozheng,90 years old,who is the twelfth generation.The cane shield is in urgent need to be rescued and protected since its inheritance is endangered.However due to the special history and its inheritance mode,there is little person mastering this art,let alone some written materials.In light of this,this paper aims to provide a meager strength for the cultural protection,inheritance and development of this endangered folk art heritage.This research mainly uses the methods of literature,interview,field investigation,logical analysis and other research methods.The research site is the birthplace of cane shield,Shi Lipu village in Shahe Town of Xingtai Development Zone.The main object of this paper is the national intangible cultural heritage,cane shield.This paper,through field research and relevant literature,explores and organizes and sorts out the origin,development,main method and technology system of cane shield.It summarizes the characteristics and value and reveals the core spirit of cane shield and explores the law of development and the mode of Xingtai folk cane shield.Research results:The systematic theory and information technology system were made through investigation and analysis.Some 370 years of its development history is clear and easy to be dated back.Cane shield is passed from generation to generation mainly by oral means.It is not known to the world until 1980 s,the 15 th generation.The style of cane shield is unique.With the performance of artistic expression,it is magnificent in its performance.Besides,it shows the characteristic of regional spread.The unique value system of cane shield is formed in the process of its evolution.It is valuable for Higher Education,body exercise and self-defense.Besides,it also processes potential value,artistic value and economic value,and reflects the core spirit of patriotism and collectivism.Cane shield includes five forms,namely,"single-line battle array","eight serial array","plum five square","four door array” and "eight door array".With the principle of yin and Yang and Daoist magic,cane shields arranges its arms.The combination of long and short weapons makes up its three main forms of practice,single weapon training,group exercises and combined exercises.Two kinds of its arrays change mainly according to the instructions of drum and flag.Cane shield is the core of its all exercises.Because of the special form of its inheritance and the aging problem of the inheritor,cane shield currently is facing a serious condition in its succession.
