Grammar learning is an important part of English language learning,which directly effects the formation of students' comprehensive language ability.Grammar learning is not the ultimate goal of language learning,but an effective way and a bridge to communication.However,grammar has always been regarded as a difficult point in English learning.And English teaching has long been in a time-consuming and inefficient state.In the past,grammar teaching mainly focused on English teachers' teaching rather than students' learning.The goal of education is not only about what to learn,but more importantly about how to learn;The role of teachers is not only to impart knowledge to students,but also teach them how to acquire knowledge.In grammar teaching,teachers should give students a fish and also teach them to fish.Therefore,mastering a certain grammar learning strategies is helpful to students' learning autonomy in grammar learning and promote the cultivation of students' autonomous learning ability.In addition,junior high school stage is a critical period for the students to learn basic knowledge of English.Grammar teaching of this stage is the starting point and the prerequisite in the stage of high school grammar teaching,so it plays a very important role in English learning in the whole period of high school.The stage of the second grade is the transitional period for grammar teaching of junior high school,and knowing about grammar learning strategies used by Junior grade two students has an important significance in knowing about ones used by junior high school students.Therefore,this study will investigate the use of grammar learning strategies of Junior grade two students in a junior middle school in Xiamen,and explored the relationship between grammar learning strategies and grammatical competence,to aim at knowing about junior high school students' autonomy of grammar learning and exploring how to promote grammar learning.Based on the theory of cognitive psychology and related studies of language strategies,this study employs questionnaire survey and interviewing method to investigate the use of the strategies of junior high school students in grammar learning.This study aims to explore the following questions through the combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods:(1)how are grammar learning strategies distributed in junior high school students?(2)what is the relationship between grammar learning strategies and grammatical competence of junior high school students?(3)are there any significant differences in the use of grammar learning strategies between high-scoring students and low-scoring students? In this study,the data collected by questionnaire survey result and grammar test are processed and analyzed by using Excel and SPSS21.0.The results of data analysis show that the subjects' overall awareness of using grammar learning strategies is in the relatively low level;there is a significantly positive correlation between grammar learning strategies and grammar learning achievement;there exists significant differences in the use of grammar learning strategies between good grammar learners and poor grammar learners.The results of the study indicate that grammar learning strategies used by junior high school students have a significant impact on their grammar learning achievement.Therefore,to strengthen students' grammar learning in junior high school,teachers and students should attach importance to the use of grammar learning strategies in grammar learning,and I hope this study can have a certain guiding significance for English teaching in high school.
