Ordinary High School English Curriculum Standard(experiment)puts forward the requirements for high school English.teaching.It points out that language skills is an important part of language using.Language skills include listening,speaking,reading and writing skills as well as the comprehensive utilization of these four skills.Listening and reading are the skills of understanding,speaking and writing are the skills of expression;these four skills complement each other in language learning and communication.Ordinary High School English Curriculum Standard(experiment)also puts forward the requirements for high school English reading teaching.Reading teaching plays an important role in English learning in senior high school.The study is based on new Bloom education theory,which analyzes the PEP(People Education Press)version and CUP(Chongqing University Press)version from compulsory 1-5.The comparison of reading practice reveals a education goal of high school students comprehension ability.On the one hand,the study aim to construct an analytic framework for designing reading practice.On the other hand,it has certain practical significance for teachers and learners.The cognitive process of the new edition of Bloom's educational objectives includes six levels: memory,understanding,application,analysis,evaluation and creation.These six levels are from shallow to deep,from low to high.As an important tool for students to study,teaching materials should be accommodated to Bloom's cognitive level.The study analyzes the PEP(People Education Press)version and CUP(Chongqing University Press)version from compulsory 1-5 based on new Bloom education theory in order to find their advantages and disadvantages for teaching.Here are the results:The two editions of the textbook are both more focused on the training of understanding.However,compared with the CUP,the PEP version pays more attention to the cultivation of students' advanced cognitive ability.And the CUP's difficulty of the curriculum is relatively lower than PEP's.Compared with the CPU edition,the PEP version is more comprehensive for the students' cognitive thinking.
