STEM is the abbreviation of science,technology,engineering and mathematics.Combined with 5E teaching model integration,STEM course contains four major disciplines of science,technology,engineering and mathematics through the problem-based learning which can help students develop the ability to respond to unknown problems and in turn develop students' a technical literacy and other series of STEM literacy.Research methods: literature research,classroom observation and quasi-experimental research.Research object and processing: two parallel classes from senior two,one for the STEM teaching of 5E teaching model,as the experimental group;another class to the course teaching of 5E teaching mode(no STEM concept),as the control group,to explore the impact of STEM curriculum on the promotion of biotechnology literacy among high school students.Research tools: the bio-technological literacy survey of high school students,the bio-technological literacy test of required three,classroom observation and STEM course experience questionnaire.The results show that:(1)After the teaching,the biotechnology lever between the experimental class and the control class showed a very significant difference,and there was no significant difference in the technical knowledge dimension.There was significant difference in the technical method,ability dimension,the technical attitude and the emotional dimension between two classes.(2)After the teaching,there were significant differences in the final exam scores between the students from experimental group and the control group.(3)When teaching,the experimental class students performed better in raising their hands to speak,cooperating between students and the active participation of classroom activities than the students in the control group with interests and classroom participation improved.(4)After the teaching,STEM program was loved by most students.Students' biological knowledge,ability,emotional attitudes,values and aiso the interest of biological learning have been improved.In view of the above research results,the study provided suggestions for STEM course teaching,STEM course teachers and STEM studying for students,and hoped to provide some reference for high school biology teaching.
