Informatization and economic globalization are the themes of the 21 st century,in order to meet the demand of innovative and practical talents in the new era,a new wave of STEM education has gradually emerged in various countries led by American.This concept has also been introduced and gradually emerged in China.It also applied to primary and secondary school teaching widely.STEM requires students of the new era to have an interdisciplinary,integrated knowledge that can be applied to specific situations in order to be able to solve practical problems in life.STEM also focuses on cultivating students' innovative spirit and comprehensive practical ability,so as to cultivate talents with core competitivenes and improve the comprehensive strength and international competitivenes of the country.At the same time,China has carried out nationwide reform of the college entrance examination,abolishing the division of arts and science,and adopting the "3+3" model since 2014.The purpose is to break discipline boundaries and promote cross-disciplinary integration,cultivate students' core qualities.This is conducive to promoting the development of students' personality and overall development.This coincides with the STEM education philosophy.This paper aims to follow the concept of talent demand in the context of STEM and the new college entrance examination,and take the teachers and students of dezhou wucheng no.2 middle school as a sample.It is the second batch of pilot schools for reform.As the research object,we aim to study the current situation of biology teaching and learning of senior high school.Under the background of STEM,this paper mainly analyzes the biological teaching and learning current status in senior high school in the form of questionnaire.In view of the problems found in the survey,based on the STEM concept and the local conditions,specific and operable improvement measures and suggestions have been proposed,so as to provide certain guidance and direction for the application of STEM in high school biology teaching and students' learning.In addition,some scientific guidances have been provided for students' course selection and employment direction under the background of the college entrance examination reform.What's more,it not only meets the requirements of the new era for high school students,but also promotes the overall development of students and assumes social responsibilities,so as to better realize their own value.
