As a necessary channel for international communication and exchanges,English plays an indispensable role in modern society.According to the Compulsory English Curriculum Standards,students need to master a certain amount of English knowledge and skills including listening,speaking,reading,writing.The focus on students' oral English ability is not only a prerequisite to the achievement of four skills,but also a strong guarantee of arousing their English learning motivation and interests.To some degree,English teaching is a continuous process of finding errors,especially for oral English teaching,oral errors happens frequently,and it is inevitable for students to make oral errors.An improper way is possible to decrease students' pleasure of learning English.Based on the theories of Contrastive Analysis,Error Analysis,Interlanguage,the related research achievements at home and abroad are introduced in this thesis.In addition,through the instruments of students' and teachers' questionnaire,classroom observation,and interview,a survey is made in X junior middle school located in Mudanjiang,Heilongjiang Province.The purpose is to find out the common types of oral errors in English class,students' and teachers' attitudes towards error correction,mainly used error correction ways in English class.Major findings of this thesis show that errors are not only caused by learners' mother tongue,but also influenced by target language and other factors.Students and teachers hold active and reasonable attitude toward error correction,Teachers are the main subjects who correct students' oral errors.According to these findings,the author provides some suggestions,such as the improvement on corrective awareness between teachers and students,building related data bank filled with oral errors for sake of decreasing the negative influence of oral error correction.
