In the process of rapid social transformation and the process of urbanization,a large number of rural families are flocking into cities, which causes the scale of rural school students declining constantly. In this case, the small-scale schools holding100 to 200 students are emerging greatly.Meanwhile, the boarding schools are being established in large numbers so as to promote the optimal resources of rural compulsory education, based on the adjustment of the layout of the rural compulsory education, and to ensure the children in remote areas can access to fair and high quality education after the withdrawal of the rural primary schools. In the end,small-scale boarding schools have emerged in towns and sparsely-populated areas, under the trends of student mobility and school construction,They are generally faced with many difficulties in organizational operation and individual development.Consequently, they can not provide the bottom children who can not migrate into cities becoming accompanying children of the rural workers. To investigate the development dilemma in those special schools,in terms of the size and function of the students,we select our cooperational county----J County, which contains many small-scale boarding schools of less than 100 students.According to the sampling principle,we inquired into E,W School which meet the requirements of the.fiield study including two phases of 15 days In this study, through the use of in-depth interviews and participatory observation,it is difficult to determine whether the school will exist in the future due to the continuous reduction of pupils and negative attitude of the school, which was discovered in the dialogue between the daily experience and the large number of naturalizations.Meanwhile, the principals, teachers and students who are the main members of.the school development are also faced with the dilemma of diversity, which is integrated with the form of school organization. This study found that the principals of the two schools have deep feelings and educational ideas based on the law of science education. However, they have a strong sense of depression and constraint because of the examination of the bureaucratic management system.Meanwhile, they lose the authority in management because they are not satisfied with the responsibility taken over by professionals. At the same time,it is difficult to obtain sufficient and effective support in the maintenance of public relations with the rural community and parents because of the influence of the profit-oriented value of the people; Some of the teachers in different ages in the two schools are anxious about their personal career development, marital relations and family care.It is difficult to obtain good professional growth in the individual career course and they have to bear the mental burden in the strict management mode and performance assessment.Professional autonomy is weaken, education and teaching often be confused and teachers often ffeel frustrated. Most students in two schools fail to get enough family care and feel high self-efficacy in learning, becuause of incomplete family structures. They are facing a high risk of dropout in the future. Moreover, they don’t get emotional comfort from the intimate adult during boarding stage. In addition, leisure activities are also tedious. On the basis of clarifying and summarizing the form of the development of the school’s predicament, the sixth chapter puts forward the metaphor of "cage" to explain the cause of the dilemma, that is,the main body is faced with the norm of the system, the restriction of the ability and the constraints of the relationship. In the end, this paper explores the path of thinking about the dilemma of the school, that is,finding the mechanism of the most fundamental dilemma and the overall predicament to focus on the breakthrough, and the search and inspiration of the elements of the school’s internal changes can not be ignored.
