The Bilingual Text Analysis On NBA Commentary

Since Yao Ming joined the NBA,NBA in China has an irresistible rapid development,with the online media to join,NBA commentary is also can not match in the past both in the number and attention.To a certain extent,NBA commentary works well in attracting more viewers to participate in basketball games,and it has an indispensable role even for the national fitness and national quality improvement.In the past,the NBA commentary is often studied around the technical and broadcast perspective,there was little research through the language level.However,according to the point of view of " systematic functional linguistics",the use of language is functional,the function of language is to create meaning and express meaning,and the use of language is a symbolic process,in this process through the selection to create and express meaning.Therefore,from the language of the three basic function,this article focus on the interpretation of the English version of the English text and Chinese text analysis.Specifically for 1)the use of the main structure of the analysis,the study of the main changes in the interpretation of the NBA.2)the use of modality structure analysis,study the relationship between NBA play-by-play commentary and color commentary.3)the use of physical analysis,to explore the use of the verb in the interpretation of the law.Through the study of the thematic structure,it is found that the thematic structure formed by the thematic characters in the explanatory word clearly shows the logic of the narrator.Through the narrator's narration,the audience,even if he did not watch the game before,will have a simple understanding of the previous process,and can generally understand the game background information.Through the tone structure analysis,ut it is found that both sides of the color commentators are using more modest party,which is consistent with the reality of the situation,that is,"commentator" role,is standing as in a professional coach or athlete's perspective,to provideadvice and views for the game.Through the analysis of physical properties,we can see that in all the English and Chinese discourse,the process of action and material processes are the most of the process,which also meet the main features of the explanation,that is,to bring the game interpretation.In these processes,the more use of psychological process by the color commentators is also a noteworthy content.Though this study,we hope to explore the English explanation's reference for the Chinese interpretation.In the course of the study,the author thinks that the similarities and differences between Chinese and English synchronic texts at the grammatical level are the subject of the next research step.
