Purpose: To investigate the role of core stability training in Scapular Dyskinesis(SD)rehabillitation for overhead athletes and the relevance of core stability training and SD.Subjects and Methods:Twenty four overhead athletes with SD were randomly assigned to two groups.The scapular muscles traning was used in the control group,and core stability training was added before the the scapular muscles traning for the experiment group.Both of them were trained for 5 weeks,and the Scapular Index,Lateral Scapular Slide Test,activation of muscles during overhead movement(MVC% and RMS of upper trapezius,middle trapezius,lower trapezius,serratus anterior),muscle balance ratios were calculated such as UT/MT,UT/LT,UT/SA,the disabilities of the arm,shoulder and hand(DASH)outcome questionnaire,Y-Balance were tested before and after the training.Then analysis the differences between the two groups.Results:1.SI were higher after training for both groups;90°position of LSST were lower after training for both groups.There was no significant difference between the two groups.2.Electromyographic date after training,(1)For both groups,activation of UT were lower during W movement,activation of MT were higer during T movement;For both groups,activation of LT were higer during Y movement;For both groups,activation of SA were higer during up of PU,and there was significant difference between the two groups.(2)During forward flexion and D2,activation of UT of E group were lower than C group,activation of LT of E group were higher than C group,UT/LT and UT/SA of E group were lower than C group.(3)During abduction,activation of LT of E group were higher than C group,activation of SA of E group were higher than C group,UT/LT and UT/MT of E group were lower than C group.3.Function of shoulder after training,(1)DASH:For both group,score of the two sections were lower after traning;score of sports section of E group were lower than C group.(2)Score of Y-balance for E group were higher than C group;the superolateral distance for E group were higher after traning.4.core stability:Core stability of E group were higher after training,and were higher than C group.Conclusions:It is better to add core stability training before scapular muscles training for overhead athletes with SD,it can improve the scapular muscles activation,the position of scapular and shoulder function.Also,it can balance the ratios of scapular muscles,except for decrese the activation of UT during forward flexion and D2,increase the activation of LT during abduction.
