With the progress of society,the process of knowledge economy to speed up development,the relationship between the quantity and quality of talent and the comprehensive national strength is becoming more and more closely,so the competition of the gifted person has become increasingly fierce.The gifted and talented education as a special form of education,the object is students who have outstanding ability in a specific field.This form of education in the rapid development of knowledge economy is becoming increasingly important today.How to carry out the full research and effective education of gifted students have not only personal and family problems,but also related to the destiny of the nation.The great attention should be paid on how to cultivate talented students and find a suitable and targeted education mode for them.The United States is one of the most developed countries in the world.Its elite education is the most popular education in the world.And it has the world's most systematic education program.The construction of its elite education guarantee systems such as protection from the staff,support agencies,research papers and periodicals and so on are perfect.On the basis of the legislation,after decades of development,talent education in the United States has achieved remarkable results,just the early admission plan to train a large number of outstanding talents.In comparison,the development of the gifted and talented education is still late in China,compared with the United States there is a gap.The talented person is the shortage resources in various countries,so we need to learn from the United States.We should absorb the experience of American gifted education,improve the level of development of China's children elite education,and create conditions for the innovational talent.This research takes the case analysis as the breakthrough point,carries on the refinement and the summary to the related content of University of Washington's advance admission plan,and makes a case study on the concrete implementation process of the plan.The research content mainly includes the following parts: The first part is the introduction,research questions and relevant literature reviewed a clear scope of the study of design concepts.On this basis,proposed the research design including the research question and purpose,the theory and method of structure and writing papers.The second part of the talent education development background,historical basis and development status in USA,and grasp the gifted and talented education from the whole.The third part first introduces the history and background of the American college entrance program.On a macroscale grasp the ins and outs of the early admissions plan,then introduces the implementation of the advance admission scheme for University of Washington.Mainly include the following aspects: enrollment conditions,the strength of teachers,curriculum,student management,etc.,and then have a comprehensive understanding of the University of Washington admission plan ahead of schedule.The fourth part is the follow-up survey,the review of the impact and effectiveness of the early admission plan.In comparison with other schools,find its advantages and possible shortcomings.The fifth part is based on the status quo of China's elite students,put forward suggestions to meet the training talented students.Thus it is beneficial to the management and operation of the existing University of Science and Technology of China and Xi'an Jiao Tong University,in the long run but also conducive to the cultivation and selection of talents in china.
