Parental participation in early intervention have family, institutional and social dimensions, which includes education for children in the purpose of rehabilitation and compensation in the family;cooperation and communication with therapist and school teachers;and strive for more rights and interests for children's rehabilitation and education. At present, the research of parental participation and efficacy is focused on general education, and the research object is focused on the parents of ordinary students, the research of parental participation on children with special needs early intervention is lacking. This study conducts a questionnaire survey about parents' participation and self-efficacy in the early intervention of children in Wuhan. The survey is divided into three parts:first is the attitude of parents to participate in early intervention, second is the actual behavior of participation of parents in the early intervention, third is the parent self-efficacy in the process of raising children. After then,a demographic analysis, the relevant analysis and regression analysis are made. The study find that:1.Parents have a strong sense of participation. The highest level is the participation in the family level, followed by the community level, and finally the school/institutional level.Parental education affects parental attitudes, and the graduate group has less participation attitudes than other academic groups at the family level and community level.Children disorder categories have a significant impact on participation, other types group(mostly growth retardation)participation attitude is higher than cerebral palsy, autism, mental retardation group.2.Parents are active in their participation. The highest level is the participation at the family level, followed by the community level, and finally for the school/institutional level. But there is still a gap between behavior and attitude, due to lack of time, lack of training opportunities and other reasons.Parents' gender has a significant effect on early intervention at school/institutional level, and mothers' participation is higher than that of father.Special children's age affects parental involvement, the younger, the higher the level of participation is.3.Parenting efficacy in the middle level, which can be further improved. The gender of the special children has a significant effect on the parental efficacy, and the girls parents' parental self-satisfaction dimension and efficacy are generally higher than those of boys.Household income has a significant impact on parental self-efficacy,the average monthly income of 6001-9000 yuan group is higher than that of 3,000 yuan income group in the parental skills knowledge and overall efficacy.4.There is a significant correlation between early childhood intervention participation attitude, behavior and parental self-efficacy.Parents' attitudes and self-efficacy can predict participation behavior, efficacy and attitudes can account for about 40%of participatory behavioral variables. In view of the above research, this study puts forward the following three suggestions:First, the government should pay attention to the rights and interests of parents, providing support and protection;Second, institutions should promote parent cooperation, providing opportunities and platforms;Third, parents have to play a potential role and improve participation level.
