This paper discusses the question of teaching methods of culture introduction in senior high school reading teaching. Not knowing the culture of the target language will certainly lead to communication failure. Language is a part of culture, and the culture of a nation is delivered by its language. Culture teaching is seldom listed in the teaching aims in EFL teaching syllabus. But the culture behind a certain language is always influencing English learners. So it's necessary to introduce the culture of the target language in EFL teaching classes. Senior high school EFL teaching is the extension of junior high school EFL teaching, and it lays the foundation for further English studying in colleges and universities. So EFL teaching in senior high schools should combine culture teaching with language teaching. Language learning without its culture is incomplete. In the High School English Curriculum Stcandar ,"culture awareness" has been listed in the teaching aims by the Chinese ministry of education(Wang Ruiping,2015:11). Senior high school students are flexible, and they are in the critical period of language learning. They can lay good foundation for their language learning if they pay enough attention to culture leaning, they can also improve their integrated language ability. And qualified integrated language ability will meet their requirements if they want to go abroad or find some certain jobs in the future.The importance of culture introduction in EFL teaching has aroused the concern of researchers, but culture introduction strategies in senior high schools haven't been paid enough attention.In this paper, by reviewing domestic literature and studying the cross-culture communication theory, and combining the theory with the teaching situation in Xiangyang 24 middle school and other key senior high schools in Xiangyang.. I have concluded the existing problems of culture teaching in high school reading classes: the disconnection between culture teaching and reading teaching; the lack of culture introduction; lack of culture introduction methods. And I have concluded that it's necessary to introduce culture in senior high school English reading teaching classes.Based on practical teaching case, I have also concluded the principles and strategies of culture introduction in high school reading classes. I mainly use the research methods of questionnaire, experimenting and testing. The main findings are as follows:students' reading capacity can be improved by introducing culture in reading class.Students' comprehensive English capacity can be improves after culture introduction.Comparison teaching method; situation teaching methods; extensive reading teaching, etc. are effective culture introduction methods.
