| Model modeling is one of the topic content of international science education, and chemical modeling ability is the core part of standard literacy in the new round curriculum. It is of great importance for the theoretical research on high school chemical modeling capabilities, also for the development of an effective assessment tools and practice research. Based on existing research results of international science education research about modeling capabilities, this study focus on the concept and characteristics of chemical modeling capabilities, such as the theory study, exploring and constructing the evaluation of chemical modeling ability dimension and the standard evaluation system. Based on high school chemical discipline knowledge assessment tools, we used the revised assessment tool for the high school chemical modeling ability evaluation and research to obtain important information about high school chemical modeling capabilities.This research including the following questions:(1)What are the connotations and characteristics of chemical modeling capabilities?(2) What are components of high school chemical modeling capabilities? (3) What are the current development statuses of high school chemical modeling capabilities? (4) How to distinguish high school chemical modeling ability among the different grades? (5)How to promote the development of high school chemical modeling capabilities?This thesis consists of six parts.The first part is the introduction, including the problem of the backgrounds, the significance, research content, research design and methods.The second part is literature review, including the core concepts of "chemical model" and "chemical modeling capabilities", comparison and analysis the development status of domestic and foreign relevant chemical modeling capabilities, "modeling of chemical education", "chemical modeling capability assessment", and generalization and build the dimension of chemical modeling ability.The third part included establishment of assessment tools: the chemical modeling ability test of three grades in high school, the first round and second round test of three grade students and the revision of the test tools.The fourth part is the equivalence between the three test tools research and the analysis of roll of difficulty levels.The fifth part is the high school chemistry modeling ability evaluation research. It carried out the quantitative and qualitative analysis on the high school chemistry modeling capabilities.The six part mainly discusses the conclusion, enlightenment, reflection and outlook of this study.The research conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1 ) After two rounds of testing and using Rasch model to revise, assessment tools have good reliability and validity, and "anchor" has a good stability. Among the three measurement tools in this study, almost all test projects show better quality performance,resulting that test projects can effectively reflect the students’ some traits. Also "anchor"problem between different measuring tools has good stability, revealing some good effects in varying degrees.(2) The chemical modeling ability of whole students in high school are ordinary,and also there are significant differences in different grades. High grade three student’s chemistry modeling ability as a whole is higher than high grade two and high grade one student’s , high grade two student’s chemistry modeling ability as a whole is higher than high grade one student’s . Students in grade three and grade two students is in modeling ability level 4, but the chemical modeling ability of students of grade three is a bit higher than that of grade two . The high grade one students’ ability in chemistry modeling at level 2.(3 ) The same grade of high school students in chemistry modeling capability dimensions are different.High grade three students in the development of each dimension of the modeling capabilities are good, ability development from high to low in turn for the model application ability, characterization ability, cognitive ability, test and build ability. High grade two students in the development of each dimension are also poor .The ability development from high to low in turn for model application ability, cognitive ability, express ability, test and build ability. High grade one students in the development of each dimension are also poor.The ability development from high to low in turn for the model application ability, test ability, cognitive ability, characterization and build ability.(4) There existing a connection among chemical modeling capability dimensions.The ability development data of three grade students in chemical modeling ability of the five dimensions reveal that students’ ability of model building contribute to the development of model inspection ability , the development of model inspection ability further promote the development of application ability. But the development of model construction ability model for inspection ability does not play a decisive role in the development of model inspection ability. The development of model cognitive ability and model representation ability do not fundamentally affect the development of the other three dimensions ability, but not completely independent. Learning from three grade students’ ability development trend, we can know that the more the development of model cognitive ability and model representation ability, the better the model construction ability, test ability and application ability, but they are not a linear relationship.Based on Rasch measurement model, Chemical modeling ability evaluation research specifically study the high school chemical modeling capabilities, providing thoughts in developing tools in measuring high school students’ chemical modeling ability. We should strengthen the students’ model building ability and carry on promoting chemical modeling ability as a whole in the teaching process. |
