Study On The Application Of Case Work To Social Interaction Disorder Of The Disabled Elderly

A series of social problems began to appear with population aging.Age often brings a variety of diseases,with physical quality decline.The disabled elderly,regardless of congenital disability or disability due to acquired disease,is a widespread concern at this stage.By reading comparative studies of people with disabilities at home and abroad,it can be found that most researchers had not differred persons with disabilities according to the type of disabilities in their research,and studies were focused on the clinical aspects.Research in the field of social work concerns more of a social rehabilitation of disabled people,mental emotional reactions research,education,employment and demand for services and so on.Therefore,the application of case work methods to offer services to the disabled,on the one hand is in favor of disabled people to fully tap their potential and enhance their ability to overcome difficulties and self-care,and provides strong proof of intervention for professional social workers;on the other hand,it does good to explore further specialization of case substantive work methods,allowing the government to see the important role of the professional social workers playing in promoting social work with the disabled,and promoting the construction of social work professionals team,but also has both theoretical significance and practical significance for social work with disabled people.With the help of community staff to survey all older persons with disabilities aged 60 and over in the community,define their problems,determine objects who are willing to accept the social work service.This study selected Mister L from Community Lanqi in Nanjing as example,used one of the three social work methods-case work-involving in their social interaction.On the basis of "systems theory","social support" and "Strengths Perspective" and other methods and theory,to understand the disability causes and facing problems for Mister L.After several interviews and observations,we provided psychological counseling for the party,helped him make new friends and improve neighborhood relations,and tapped his potential to improve his ability to overcome difficulties.In this study,we had a profound reflection on the application of casework to social interaction disorder of the disabled elderly.Through interviews with the person in charge of the street and the community,we find that there are some shortcomings in the localization of persons with disabilities in social work,such as:professional social workers in community are in a small number;the government transferred disabled people services to social organizations through outsourcing services;social organizations are lack of power,receive challenges and mistrust in the service process from vulnerable clients,resulting in low efficiency.By casework,we realize that in order to fully integrate community resources,community is one of the most important platforms to provide services and help for older persons with disabilities.The results showed that casework can great help in improving interpersonal relationships between elderly people with disabilities and improving social skills and other aspects.which provides some reference to the application of case work to social interaction disorder of the disabled elderly.
