A Study On Major Problems And Solutions To Integrity Value Of Contemporary College Students

"Sincere in heart,trustful to others" explains integrity. Report to the eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China involved integrity into the core socialist values,enabling integrity one of the most essential contents of core socialist values. Integrity does not only play a significant role in everyone's growth and development, but also weighs much to a country, a people and a society. The integrity value of college students means an inner measurement and subjective opinion to integrity during the process of college students' growth. It can guide personal behaviors of college students and evaluate behaviors of themselves as well as others. Simply speaking, it is the spiritual belief of integrity in the heart of college students.This study will analyze mainstream status quo, problems and reasons of college students in terms of integrity value and put forward solutions to cultivating and practicing integrity value among college students based on previous integrity value researches and questionnaires. College students are the pillar of the future society. As a group who have received higher education, the general status quo of college students in terms of integrity value has been satisfactory. Nevertheless, there exists certain problems due to inconsistency of integrity value among college students, incomplete integrity interest guiding mechanism, negative impacts of the social environment, lack of effectiveness in integrity value education. Five aspects will be discussed-the impact of significance in integrity value evaluation, contradiction to recognition of integrity value and dishonest behaviors, insufficient internal motivation for practice of integrity value,lack of social orientation of integrity value and inadequate confidence in integrity value.Hence, in order to cultivate and practice integrity value of college students, firstly, the integrity awareness should be cultivated among college students and the recognition of integrity value should be enhanced. In addition, integrity interest guiding mechanism should be established to provide cultivation and practices with institutional guarantee.Apart from that, the environment should be optimized to maintain favorable atmosphere for the cultivation and practices. Finally, the education and effectiveness should be enhanced in integrity value cultivation and practices.
