Research On The Sports Activities Present Situation And Countermeasure Under Fog And Haze In Wuhu Primary School

Recently,fog and haze has become more and more common.According to a survey,the rate of haze in Wuhu has been raised to 40% from 2015 to 2016.The "Sunshine Sports" program promoted by the Ministry of Education requires that every student should enjoy an hour of exercise every day.Currently,the national policy is faced with a serious conflict with the bad weather conditions.It is the high time for the Wuhu municipal government and the Education Bureau to take measures to solve the air pollution and build a healthy development for the primary school sports activities.To investigate the sports activities under haze weather in Wuhu,such researching tools has been applied :Literature review,questionnaire,expert interviews and etc.The research aims to guarantee Wuhu primary school sports activities under the haze weather by means of corresponding countermeasures based upon the analysis of its problems.The research shows:(1)Compared with students,the majority of primary school PE teachers in Wuhu are more aware of the danger of sports under the haze,but they pay little attention to it.Less clear what the extent of haze pollution can be carried out outdoor sports activities.(2)When heavy fog and haze arrives,most primary schools in Wuhu choose to stop outdoor PE lessons.Thus self-study and video watching get replaced as alternative choices.When the haze turns milder,PE lessons will continue in most schools.Some of the schools will adjust the teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching methods and teaching organization.Most schools have reduced intensity and the time of sports activities.Most students are forced to spend PE lessons in the classroom.Due to the lack of indoor sports venues,Indoor sports activities are found rare in most schools.(3)When heavy fog comes,the majority of primary school activities will be canceled.Restricted by the number and site factors,students' autonomous activities in classrooms become the top priority though it badly lack of unity;Even when the haze is lighter,“Sunshine hour” activities will be carried out among a small number of schools.Concerning the sports team has been charged of a special trainer,along with special tasks to be accomplished.Most elementary school sports team keep training in the haze weather,however,the training objectives,content and form will be adjusted.(4)Although some primary schools in Wuhu carry out supplementary exercise,But has not developed a systematical program.The frequency,content,amount and form of supplementary exercise were not scientifically examined,thus fails to make full use of supplemental exercise to make up for the lack of sports activities under the haze weather.(5)The majority ofWuhu primary school sports authorities have been aware of the haze weather but they did not take effective measures.For example,little attention has been paid to the construction of indoor venues and weak instruction given to indoor activities in haze weather.Measures taken by PE teachers to deal with haze is relatively simple,Mainly to adjust the sports load and carry out sports activities in the classroom,Students are not satisfied with the PE lessons during haze days.
