| With the deepening reform of the NMET(National Matriculation English Test),there are25 provinces(include autonomous regions and municipalities)start to use the NMET volume paper until 2016.Since 2014,use the grammar gap-filling task instead of the grammar single choice.Grammar single choice has been used in the NMET for a long time.However,the study of grammar gap-filling task are always focused on problem solving methods and techniques,the validity study on grammar gap-filling task are limited.Therefore,deeply analyze the content validity of grammar gap-filling task is a way to strengthen the integrity of the NMET and make it standardized and scientific.It is conducive to fair and impartial examination,and make significant effect on high school English teaching.In this study,we use literature analysis,quantitative analysis and interview to compare the seven grammar gap-filling tasks in NMET papers from 2014 to 2016.Because the anylisis of the content validity on grammar gap-filling task is mainly focus on the task content.We will begin the study with content’s various characteristics of the 2014-2016 grammar gap-filling tasks in NMET papers.Thus,the study focuses on the following aspects:(1)the text content validity of the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers;(2)test center level distribution of the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers;(3)the test point set of the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers.Based on the above analysis,we try to evaluate the content validity of the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers,and explore the implications for the future proposition.The study result shows that the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers is in line with the requirements of the "Senior English Syllabus" and " the National English Curriculum Standard ",in terms of the text length,genre and topic.The length of the text is an average of 187 words.The genre is mainly narrative and argumentative.The choice of test topic is objective and authentic.In the text readability,the vocabulary is mostly covered in "Senior English Syllabus",and the sentence structure is in medium difficulty,in the meantime,the readability is in a standard value.Secondly,the test point set of the grammar gap-fillingtask is reasonable because of the basic coverage of grammar knowledge points.In addition,the test can reflect the students’ comprehensive ability.So we can make a conclusion that the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers has a high content validity.The grammar gap-filling task is focused on the grammar item list in the "Senior English Syllabus",which has a great effect on consolidating the basic grammar knowledge and improving the grammar ability.In general,the grammar gap-filling task in NMET volume papers has a high content validity,in line with the requirement of "Senior English Syllabus".But there is still room for improvement in terms of content validity.Such as increasing the diversity of text topics,consider the uniqueness of the answer on racking out the settings and so on. |
