Study On Compactness And Efficiency Of Land-use For University Education In Chongqing

As today’s Chinese higher education is in the process of large-scale and compreh--ensive with market-oriented and industrial after the reform of the higher education management system such as rejuvenating the country through science and education or university merging and enrollment enlarging.Either the number of universities or the students are exploded and the land for university is increasing quickly.So we can try to calculate the standard of compactness and efficiency for higher education land in Chongqing according to building the indicator systems for compactness and efficiency.Build the compactness indicator system based on land-use utilization and extent plus structure intensity,then exert entropy theory to calculate the compactness level for the land of 17 universities in Chongqing for the year of 2015,the conclusions show that there is only 3 universities under the highest level compactness which account for 18% of 17 universities,the number of better compactness level is 11 which accounts for 64% and the rest of 3 universities exist the low level account for 18%.The total compactness level still has space to improve for the land of higher education in Chongqing.Also,the compactness level has the highest related with the land-use structure and high related with the land-use utilization and extent,the concrete features are school building density&school building plot ratio&the green area which outcome confirms the natural conditions and realistic conditions of Chongqing.It is covered by hill and the plane area only account for 6% totally,so the land-use extent is lower than the plane region and all of the universities have to improve the compactness level under the realistic conditions.Build the efficiency indicator system based on inputs and outputs total 8 indexes and exerting DEA calculate the 17 universities land-use efficiency,the conclusions show that 10 universities are in best inputs and outputs efficiency and the other 7 universities are not in which exist inputs redundancy or outputs deficiency,further more,they are in law of increasing returns.According to the EMS calculating,10 universities super DEA standard are greater than 1 and Chongqing Police College has the super DEA standard 2.89 which is maximum in total 17 universities.Analyze the relation between compactness and efficiency by quadrant diagram for education land-use in Chongqing and the outcomes show that it is mainly low efficiency and low coordination between them which have 11 universities account for 65%,high coordination university only has 3 which accounts for 18%.
